The SCI AmeriCorps program connects youth with relationships, experiences and resources they need to succeed. Our Members support youth achievement through volunteer outreach and capacity building that provides leadership training and community service opportunities for youth.
SCI AmeriCorps is currently looking for members to fill Volunteer Outreach Coordinator (VOC) positions for a 1700-hour service commitment between September 2020 and June 2021. Since 2007, SCI AmeriCorps members have served at various host sites, who are aligned with the mission of Social Capital Inc. The VOC will develop and implement practices for effective volunteer engagement at their host sites by focusing on SCI's core values of relationship development and nurturing local social networks.
HOST SITE OPPORTUNITY ─ Social Capital Inc. (Woburn)
The SCI AmeriCorps member will:
~ Recruit and coordinate volunteers for new & existing SCI community initiatives. Assist SCI staff to provide logistical support for community event planning and management.
~ Communicate with community leaders and business owners to recruit partners and sponsors to support SCI community programs and events. Manage SCI Woburn social media accounts and electronic outreach including SCIWoburn.org and Week in Woburn e-newsletter.
~ Coordinate community events, including managing volunteer committees and event day volunteers. Major events planned for the year that the member will help to coordinate include the Holiday House Tour, WorldFest, Community Connection Supper Clubs, and the Horn Pond Summer Concert Series.

Able to commit to Full-Time service in local communities with diverse residents
Effective communication skills to conduct community outreach through marketing strategies and civic engagement
Strong work ethic, collaboration, and time management skills
