Description

The SCI AmeriCorps program connects youth with relationships, experiences and resources they need to succeed. Our Members support youth achievement through volunteer outreach and capacity building that provides leadership training and community service opportunities for youth.

SCI AmeriCorps is currently looking for members to fill Volunteer Outreach Coordinator (VOC) positions for a 1700-hour service commitment between September 2020 and June 2021. Since 2007, SCI AmeriCorps members have served at various host sites, who are aligned with the mission of Social Capital Inc. The VOC will develop and implement practices for effective volunteer engagement at their host sites by focusing on SCI's core values of relationship development and nurturing local social networks.

HOST SITE OPPORTUNITY ─ Fenway Community Development Corporation
The SCI AmeriCorps member will:

~ Recruit volunteers and attendees for health-improvement, workforce-development, financial-empowerment, Fair Foods, and Fenway Family Coalition programs run by Fenway CDC
~ Coordinate with local universities to promote student civic engagement and service-learning opportunities relating to Fenway CDC’s work;
~ Utilize Fenway CDC’s CiviCRM database software system to streamline communication with stakeholders, and track program data;
~ Coordinate event logistics and volunteers for career fairs and educational workshops; Assist in other projects or community events as assigned, such as the Annual Meeting.

$1300 - $1300 monthly

Able to commit to Full-Time service in local communities with diverse residents
Effective communication skills to conduct community outreach through marketing strategies and civic engagement
Strong work ethic, collaboration, and time management skills
