Description

The Community Health Educator for the Westside Alive Project will represent the face of SASI in the 9 Chicago Westside communities by helping to create and present the Westside Alive project using Town Hall formats (community discussions) to normalize community “stigma” topics. These topics include an overview of community public health on HIV and PrEP (the importance of testing and adherence), mental health access (confronting mental health personal beliefs/bases and where to seek aid), STDs (prevalence and testing), harm reduction through Naloxone training (overdose prevention) and addiction (what addiction is/isn’t). The position will provide outreach and education to community members in schools, churches, other nonprofits and community organizations, and other treatment centers.
