Description

Mission and Goals for the specific project on which City Service Corps member is serving:
The New York City Department of Health’s mission is to protect and promote the health of all New Yorkers. The agency works to eliminate health inequities, which are rooted in historical and contemporary injustices and discrimination.

Member Position Summary:
The City Service Corps member will allow us to increase our evaluation capabilities and better track the results of our work. In addition, the member will work with clinicians throughout our program area to assist them as they strive to meet a set of best practices as outline by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. During the course of the service year, the member will participate in trainings to develop skills on presenting data and key findings from the health and emotional wellness survey and become familiar with the activities that take place in the context of public health.

Detailed Functions of Position:
1. Track and evaluate portions of the health intervention.
2. Monitor and support the evaluation of the clinic linkage model in the Bronx, Brooklyn & Staten Island.
3. Work with evaluation staff to collect and analyze data from partners.
4. Conduct community outreach to promote the work of New York City Teens Connection program.

Preferred Academic or Experience Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of Member:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Ability to learn quickly
• Willingness to travel to other boroughs to meet with clinic partners
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Desire to set and achieve goals
• Interest in Public Health
