Dawson Promise is a program at Dawson Community College aimed at helping unaccompanied youth, homeless youth, or youth aging out of the foster care system to obtain a two-year education without student debt.

Service Activities

In this position, you will support the Dawson Promise program in recruiting and supporting a team of college AmeriCorps members to provide near-peer mentorship to low-income and first-generation high school students. You will provide academic mentorship to students, organize workshops on topics such as financial aid, college applications, etc., and implement community service projects.

Community Need Addressed

Unaccompanied youth, homeless youth, and youth aging out of foster care have a low rate of college success.
