Habitat ReStores provide an important source of reliable funding, and, in addition, divert tons of usable items from landfills each year. As the Habitat ReStore Volunteer Development VISTA at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, you will help the affiliate develop an improved volunteer program for their two ReStore(s). Objectives related to this project goal include developing a recruitment plan to increase the number of individual and group volunteers, creating orientation and training protocol to aid with volunteer retention and satisfaction, developing or refining processes for collecting relevant volunteer information (contact info, hours, etc), and organizing volunteer recognition events.

Desired Certifications or Qualifications
• A demonstrated understanding and enthusiasm for VISTA and its core mission of fighting poverty
• Available to serve in a full time capacity for one year
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to be a self-starter and work independently with moderate supervision
• Basic competency in Microsoft Office products, email, the internet, & social media
• A positive attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, strong organizational skills and an ability to multitask.
• Cultural sensitivity and an ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and multiple age groups.
• Access to reliable transportation for project related travel (mileage reimbursed)
