Habitat ReStore Development VISTA

Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin
No listings recruiting at this time

The goal of this VISTA project is to help local Habitat affiliates increase the revenue generated by their Habitat ReStores. This revenue provides sustainable funds to support (and hopefully expand) the affiliate's programs which can include: building or rehabbing homes in partnership with families, home repair programs to help families remain in their homes, and larger-scale neighborhood revitalization efforts.

Individual ReStore VISTA members have projects that cover a wide range of areas: developing formal volunteer programs, creating marketing plans, building relationships with donors, and implementing point of sales systems.

Service Activities

Depending on the specific project goals, ReStore VISTA members: 1) establish new partnerships, 2) recruit volunteers and create a sustainable recruitment plan, 3) develop orientation and training programs, 4) formalize processes and procedures and write operations manuals, 5) organize sales and special events, and 6) research DIY projects utilizing materials in the ReStore.
