Description
Part of the vibrant Milwaukee metropolitan area, Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County was established in 1989. HFHWC built 23 homes in its first 24 years and has begun a period of growth. In Fiscal Year 2015, Habitat completed 3 homes and opened a ReStore. During Fiscal Year 2017, Habitat will complete 6 homes and is planning to open a second ReStore.
The goal of this VISTA project is to develop and implement long-term plans to grow the store’s donor, volunteer and customer base. ReStore revenue provides a steady source of income for the affiliate, enabling the agency to help more families gain access to safe, affordable housing. Project objectives include:
• Refine and expand the ReStore Volunteer Program, including developing recruitment strategies, creating a volunteer appreciation program, and implementing a new training program for volunteers.
• Work with Marketing VISTA to research and implement marketing strategies for the ReStore.
• Work with ReStore Manager to revise systems and processes to accommodate an expanded store footprint.
