Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin

Our mission is to unite Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the state of Wisconsin in a coordinated effort to eliminate sub-standard housing.

• About Us
  Each year, Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Wisconsin help several hundred hard-working families in Wisconsin access safe, decent and affordable housing. While we are quite proud of what has been accomplished, we recognize that with increased collaboration and more state-wide efforts through a State Support organization, we can become an even more powerful force for affordable housing in Wisconsin.
  
  In addition to building new homes and partnering with families to become homeowners, HFH affiliates throughout Wisconsin also run other programs like Critical Home Repair and A Brush With Kindness, both of which aim at rehabbing houses. Other programs include Neighborhood Revitalization and Home Preservation programs which aim to promote community and homeownership by targeting their services to specific neighborhoods. Many affiliates run one or more Habitat ReStores, which not only raise funds to support Habitat's mission, but also promote reuse and recycling of materials which would otherwise end up in landfills.
  
  The HFH WI VISTA Program is a one of the cornerstone programs provided by HFH Wisconsin for affiliates throughout the state. VISTA members help Habitat affiliates grow their grassroots organizations by developing volunteer programs, leading community outreach initiatives, creating marketing campaigns to promote Habitat's work, and much more.
• Our Impact
  Each year, Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Wisconsin partner with several hundred hardworking families in Wisconsin to provide safe, decent and affordable housing. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside our partner families. Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own "sweat equity" labor into building their own Habitat home and the houses of others. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit, and their monthly payments are recycled back into building more Habitat houses.
