Description
YouthBuild USA seeks AmeriCorps VISTA members to inject energy, talent, and a spirit of service into our work of increasing the number out of school young adults between the ages of 16-24 who attain a GED/ high school diploma, enter college, and gain meaningful employment. The VISTA member will work to increase the number of YouthBuild graduates gaining employment. Specifically, the VISTA will develop partnerships with local businesses that will result in internship opportunities, and potentially jobs, in the healthcare, IT, and construction. The VISTA member will also develop a Life Skills curriculum that will prepare students for employment.
This position is located in North Chicago, which is a community 40 miles north of the city of Chicago in Lake County, IL. This position is not located in the city of Chicago.
