Rachel completed their Service Year with Florida Conservation Corps in Gainesville, FL 32641.
Seeing the volunteers that work in some of Southeast Florida's State Parks. They have so much energy and spirit, working in the hot Florida sun and helping maintain their parks.I also enjoyed a Cypress tree planting event hosted by two AmeriCorps at Johnathan Dickinson State Park. Many of the people who came out to volunteer were in their 40s and up and they worked in the muddy mangroves, helping plant native cypress trees while keeping positive energy. It made me feel that my hard work during this term is worth it.I enjoy getting to see different sides of parks that the public may not have access to, making me feel that I'm really out in nature, away from the city.
