Description

Project POWER is seeking dedicated individuals to fill 7 full-time positions to that will focus on food insecurity and healthy futures in western North Carolina. Each member will serve 1700 hours during a 11.5 month term.

PPAC Community Resource Specialist will assist and support local nonprofits by enhancing and expanding services to provide more food to meet the nutritional and social needs of disadvantaged youth, families and older adults. Community Resource Specialist will be dedicated to teaching sustainable agricultural skills and resources in urban environments to promote social justice and economic viability to local students. Community Resource Specialist will also lead school-based food drives and will establish links with local farms in order to reduce the time rescued produce spends waiting to be distributed.
