Description

The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Sacramento has led the way in child protection efforts, pioneering successful child abuse prevention programs that have become models for other groups throughout California and the nation. Its many innovative programs include the Child Death Review Team, CAP Center AmeriCorps Programs, Family Support Collaborative and Birth & Beyond Family Resource Centers, and the California Family Resource Association (CFRA). CFRA is a member organization that represents over 350 Family Resource Centers (FRCs) throughout the state by advocating for the innovate public policies and resources needed for families and communities to thrive and succeed.

The VISTA member will work with the CFRA and program teams to expand community outreach, build social media presence through active posting and coordination with partner agencies, and promote the transformational impact of our programs on populations with whom we work through Partner Agency, AmeriCorps Member and Program Beneficiary profiles. Our partner agencies will become more efficient and effective through increased community awareness, resulting in an increase in volunteer and national service participant interest, retention and new partnerships with institutions of higher learning and local business/foundations.

In addition, the VISTA member will focus both on leveraging resources and increasing access by: 1) marketing outreach to increase awareness of CFRA’s impact in the family strengthening field; 2) marketing outreach to recruit new CFRA members; 3) investigate potential grants to increase CFRA’s advocacy efforts; 4) research potential grants to increase funding for CFRA members’ family support services.
