The NC Afterschool Corps will build the capacity of afterschool and expanded learning programs that serve low-income children, while strengthening these programs’ connection to local colleges and universities.
The goal of the VLDR position is to provide member support and program management assistance, with primary responsibility for coordinating and improving member professional development and improving program performance measurement, including data collection and reporting. Member duties include: - Assessing current training practices and developing professional development and training curriculum based on cohort needs. - Act as primary point of contact for VISTA members, maintaining weekly contact to provide resources and technical support. - Support VISTA communication platforms, such as the VISTA Facebook page and weekly email.

NC Afterschool Corps members may access professional development funds to allow them to attend a professional conference sponsored by the Compact or its partners. All members receive in-service training.
