Description
The AmeriCorps College Coach at Carroll College will serve as a professional mentor supporting student success, through the active utilization of existing program and resources. The College Coach will aim to involve community member's campus-wide to spread awareness of available resources and support. This position will coordinate outreach, educational support, and accessibility of resources such as housing and food, while also creating and enhancing specific mentoring-based programs for students. As a College Coach, you will serve in the Saint Success Center and will play a critical role in connecting students to necessary resources for their success at Carroll College. You will assist in the maintenance of the online job board, Handshake, and assist with a variety of special events offered by the department. These events include advising and registration events, global learning initiatives, (Career) fairs and Expo’s, Etiquette Dinner, etc. You will assist in the creation and reactivation of a PEER Advisor mentorship program, including recruitment, training, and ongoing maintenance of a PEER Advisor program. During the Fall semester you will post, research, provide workshop(s), training or updates for students for acquiring scholarships to assist students in funding higher education. During the Spring semester you will provide education on Financial Literacy.
