Description
Two full-time members will assist the site trainers/supervisors as they teach a crew of YouthBuild participants construction skills as they actually build a house. The site assistants need not possess professional level construction skills, but some interest and experience in the building trades is beneficial. Absolutely necessary is a desire to learn, and to pass that knowledge along to the other young people on the crew.The site assistants also participate in leadership and service activities, both with the other participants, and as a leadership team The full-time member serves as a model, mentor, and motivator to the 20 half-time AmeriCorps/YouthBuild members who are working on academic and job skills.
