We have an on-going recruitment window. We accept members all year round. We find members then we find them a position to ensure member's experience is meaningful.

A modest living allowance is provided to help assist with living expenses during the term of service. This ranges from $1,200-$20,400 depending on your service hours (100, 300, 450, 675, 900, 1200, or 1700 hours).

Earn Money for College! Receive an Educational Award between $365.52 and $6,495 after completing your term of service.

Gain valuable experience in youth development, working as part of a team, leading a group, and build your resume while serving and connecting with your community.

Additional benefits include: up to 340 hours of training and professional development, health care, child care (full-time only), and potential employment opportunities.

Service Activities

Provide direct educational and/or Triple Play programs to children and youth, ages preschool – 18 years, after school and during summer.

Implement daily educational and/or healthy lifestyle activities including: homework help, tutoring, high yield learning activities, enrichment, arts education, technology programs, and academic remediation and/or Healthy Habits, Daily Fitness Challenges, Sports Clubs, Sports Leadership, Triple Play Games, and Social Recreation.

Community Need Addressed

Academic achievement gaps due to loss of learning and education in healthy lifestyles.

Position Outcomes

Increased academic skills, knowledge on healthy habits and awareness of decision making.

Credential or Certification

The Child & Youth Care (CYC) Certification The CYC certification is a national credential for child and youth care work practitioners. It is based on a three-tiered system beginning with Entry Level and includes Associate and Professional Levels. CYC certification allows practitioners to demonstrate their development as professionals and participate in true career development. Over time, practitioners can combine in-service training, formal education and work experience to qualify for increasingly advanced positions. Or they can continue to work in the same setting with the ability to meet a wider range of youth needs.
