Description

The AmeriCorps Mapping and Outreach Corpsmember (ages 18-25) is based at the International Water Institute in Fargo, North Dakota. Under the guidance of an International Water Institute project supervisor, the Corpsmember will assist with GIS mapping projects, including gathering and analyzing data in ArcGIS. The member will also design education, outreach and promotional materials, and assist with watershed education programs in the Red River of the North Basin.

JOB DETAILS:
-- Location: Fargo, ND
-- AmeriCorps service position (ages 18-25 preferred)
-- Term dates: January 17 – December 15, 2017
-- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. typical. Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
-- Stipend: $1690/mo
-- Education award: $5775 upon successful completion of term

QUALIFICATIONS:
-- Strong IT skills, including experience with ArcGIS, cartography, information systems and GPS devices
-- Positive attitude and strong commitment to service and community work.
-- Ability to work with children and youth in outdoor settings.
-- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats, creative thinking and problem solving.
-- Desktop publishing and photography skills.
-- College coursework and/or degree in a relevant field.

REQUIREMENTS:
-- 18-25 years old.
-- Full term of service must be completed in order to receive the education award.
