The Community Outreach Corpsmember position is an AmeriCorps position based at the University of Minnesota Extension in Cloquet, MN. This position serves to build the capacity of network partners to provide programming that prepares volunteers for conservation service. The member will also implement a shared data system focused on invasive species for partnering organizations.

Service Activities

The Community Outreach Corpsmember will assist the University of Minnesota Extension in building the capacity of network partners and providing programming to connect people and communities to nature. The member will conduct community outreach, coordinate local events, blog about community initiatives, and develop recruitment plans and program delivery to better connect with conservation volunteers and underserved audiences. The member will also implement a shared data system for partnering organizations.

The Conservation Corps addresses environmental challenges in our communities through the dedicated service of its members. The Community Outreach Corpsmember will conduct community outreach, coordinate local events, blog about community initiatives, and develop recruitment plans and program delivery to better connect with conservation volunteers and underserved audiences.

Position Outcomes

The Community Outreach Corpsmember will gain experience in creating and delivering conservation education programs, developing best practices for system sustainability, managing volunteer data, balancing priorities across various programs and building the capacity of network partners to provide programming that prepares volunteers for conservation service.
