Description

Help a beautiful New Hampshire community increase educational access, attainment, and opportunity for every member of our city! Apply to be an AmeriCorps VISTA who will incorporate and manage a burgeoning non-profit, run programs related to early childhood education, join the greater community and schools in stronger partnerships, provide logistical grant support, recruit and manage volunteers, and support community partners. Of the 1788 students in grades PK-12, 50% are eligible for free/reduced lunch, 12% meet the federal definition of homelessness, 23% receive special education services, and 10% have experienced one or more parent incarcerated. We are looking for highly motivated, independent, positive, solution-oriented, self-starters who appreciate the value of education for all and an interest in the non-profit sector. VISTAs will leave this year of service with a sense of accomplishment in having made the Claremont community a better place for kids and their families.
