Members will be on the Habitat construction crew in Knoxville. Activities include learning and training in skills needed to build homes, working on-site at home builds, using hand tools and operating power tools, and managing and supervising volunteers. Members will also be responsible for conducting service-learning projects with the community to engage citizens in energy efficiency and housing services education and hands on learning.

Service Activities

Members will also be responsible for conducting service-learning projects with the community to engage citizens in energy efficiency and housing services education and hands on learning. Members will regularly drive between sites - must have a valid driver's license to apply.

Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat partners with people in the community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. The vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Position Outcomes

Increase access to appropriate, quality housing in low-income neighborhoods and for low-income families. Move families from renting substandard housing into homeownership. Provide homes with affordable monthly mortgage payment. Engage community groups and volunteers in home builds and other projects.
