I would like to serve because I want to help those who are in need, whether they are struggling academically, socioeconomically, etc. I want to help provide a brighter future for those kids who come from tougher backgrounds.
I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in elementary school myself. Over the summer, I did a study abroad experience in Costa Rica that transformed my career goals. Now, I would like to serve children in communities other than my own, whether in the United States or abroad. I would like to either use my second language (Spanish) in my new lifestyle, or help others learn English as a second language. Monolingualism can be cured!
