At Achievement Connections, we train extensively to ensure our tutors are equipped with the best tutoring practices available during their service year. You'll be oriented in how to structure a tutoring session, how to deploy tools that help students learn, and how to create relationships that help students engage and succeed. Training throughout the year includes sessions on cultural competency, trauma-informed care, volunteer management, and conflict resolution. We also believe in giving our AmeriCorps members a competitive edge when their service year concludes, so we provide training in building resumes and cover letters, conduct mock interviews, and work with local partners on up-to-date job hunting methods.
