Conservation & Disaster Crew Leader

Description

Crew Leaders co-lead a crew of eight individuals to serve with throughout their season.

Crews work both hitch and local project schedules. For hitch projects crews will typically work a 10 days on and 4 days off schedule: leaving on a Monday, and coming back the following Wednesday. At the beginning of the week, the crew will go grocery shopping and purchase food with a budget provided by TxCC. The crews will then work, camp, eat, and live together until the end of their 10 day work cycle. For local projects crews will work a regular 8-5pm, Monday-Friday schedule. During projects, the crews will get to and from their project sites using our vehicles, driven by the crew leaders.

Crew Leaders receive S212 Wildland Chainsaws Certification, FEMA Certifications, CPR AED Training, and Wilderness First Aid training
