Community Resource Corps (CRC) members are an integral part of alleviating poverty in Philadelphia by making anti-poverty resources more accessible and meeting residents where they are to access these life sustaining resources. CRC members are active and trusted members in their communities and are committed to making a positive change in their community.

Activities: Conduct on the ground outreach to connect Philadelphia residents to city anti-poverty resources such as canvassing and text banking
Conduct needs assessments, eligibility screenings, resource referrals and resource enrollment/application support for residents
Foster relationships with internal and external city leaders and community-based organizations
AmeriCorps Members will input outreach data entry by inputting resident resource responses into VAN system

Service Activities

Community Need Addressed

Philadelphia residents face many barriers to accessing resources. These include digital, economic, language, literacy, and disability-related barriers. The COVID-19 pandemic has worsened these challenges in our highest-need communities.

The goals of the Community Resource Corps (CRC) are to:

- Connect residents to resources.
- Conduct neighborhood outreach.
- Build the City's capacity for strategic community engagement.
