Why Sara Wants To Serve

I want to serve for various reasons, personal and professional. Some personal reasons I would love to serve is because I am always eager to meet new people and learn about their lifestyle and culture, I am constantly looking for ways to practice Spanish and improve my fluency, and last but not least to help guide people in whatever way I can possible to reach their full potential whether professionally, personally, or mentally. Professionally for me serving would be a great way to expand my experience, and most importantly to learn from others. Even though I would be serving to assist other people you never know what someone else can teach you.

About

I am studying Spanish education with two minors one in European Studies and the other in Latino Studies. After graduation, I hope to serve as a volunteer in the Peace Corps.
The best word to describe me is balance. I constantly try to balance my life to include the best of everything. In my free time, I volunteer at Metcalf Elementary School assisting the Spanish teacher, I try to stay healthy by playing sports/ exercising, and I love going to the movies with family and friends. I also am always eager to learn and trying new things. So in my spare time, I love to bake/cook, crochet, draw/paint, and read.
Professionally, as a future educator, I am always striving to learn about new techniques I could use in the classroom, thinking of creative lesson plans or activities, and reviewing past experiences to improve.
