Description

The Oakland Literacy Coalition works with community partners to collaboratively address the city’s literacy challenges. The VISTA will play an important fundraising and outreach role on our small and highly collaborative team. The position will support the Coalition to seek new funding opportunities and contribute to related projects, including marketing communications, grant writing, and data tracking. The VISTA will also support outreach activities for the Coalition and Oakland Reads campaign and work alongside the team to develop volunteer opportunities that engage community stakeholders in meaningful actions to promote literacy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new and growing nonprofit and play a meaningful role in addressing the literacy challenges facing Oakland children and families.
