MTCC AmeriCorps Leaders serve in communities across Montana, helping improve high school graduation, college completion, and access to post secondary education for first generation and low-income Montanans. Members recruit volunteers, mentor high school & college students, and build or provide in-school and after school support.

Service Activities

- Meeting one-on-one with students.
- Visiting classrooms and meeting with student groups.
- Helping students to research careers.
- Supporting students with college, scholarship, and FAFSA applications.
- Providing homework help.
- Organizing community service projects.

Community Need Addressed

High school graduation rates and access to post-secondary education for first generation and low-income Montanans.

MTCC AmeriCorps members participate in a cohort of up to 40 AmeriCorps State and AmeriCorps VISTA members. Trainings throughout the year convene the cohort for professional development and meaningful connection, and weekly virtual gatherings keep members connected to each other and the foundation of their service.
