Broader Impacts Group works to increase STEM literacy and passion in Montana youth, with the ultimate goal of inspiring K-12 students to pursue higher education, especially at the University of Montana.

Service Activities

In this position you will provide STEM-positive mentorship to high school students at Hellgate High School and Willard Alternative High School in Missoula, helping students to explore options for college degrees in STEM fields. You will also support in providing museum activities to youth and families at the spectrUM Discovery Area, housed at the Missoula Public Library. Additionally, you will participate in outreach activities to the EmPower Place at the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center, as well as in rural and tribal communities across the state.

Increase STEM literacy and passion in Montana youth, and inspiring K-12 students to pursue higher education.

Position Outcomes

Provide college positive mentorship to high school juniors and seniors. Provide K-12 students, college students, and other community members opportunities to volunteer on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Global Youth Service Day. Provide k-12 students and college students opportunities to increase STEAM literacy and passion through hands-on education and mentorship, with the ultimate goal of inspiring students to pursue higher education.
