You will deliver on climate action through community engagement. Our program centers community-driven projects that build on our greatest strength--Maine people! You will provide assistance to local Oxford County communities. You will help plan and implement climate action projects.
CEBE’s work spans renewable energy, weatherization, electrification, active transportation, EVs, green housing, and more.

Service Activities

You may help to:
• develop funding proposals
• implement funded projects
• organize community meetings
• recruit and manage volunteers
• communicate with and engage the public

Community Need Addressed

This position will support rural, under resourced communities. Additionally, this position focuses on climate action including both mitigation and resilience activities. The host site, Center for Ecology-based Communities, supports small towns in identifying and reaching their climate action goals, spanning renewable energy, weatherization, electrification, active transportation, green housing, and more. They previously had short-term state funding to support these towns, now that the funding has expired, they would like to continue to provide support and technical assistance to the towns. The Fellow will assist CEBE in supporting the towns.

Position Outcomes

Towns and community groups will access additional resources to meet their climate action goals including raising funds, accessing technical assistance, increasing community involvement, and engaging community volunteers.
