Homewood Children's Village

Our mission is to improve the lives of Homewood’s children and simultaneously reweave the fabric of the community in which they live.

• About Us
  The Homewood Children's Village (HCV) is a child-centered, comprehensive community initiative that “tears down barriers to success for children and youth”. Our work began in 2008 in the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, where many of our children are surrounded by generational poverty and educated in schools with historically substandard outcomes. Since that time, the HCV has expanded to engage 1,000 children each day who live, learn, and play in Homewood.
• Our Impact
  We think of our work as a pathway that helps carry children along a path made up of solid education; physical, social, and emotional health; strong families; and good post-secondary opportunities.
  Our work in education, research, and evaluation are our strengths in building this pathway. By combining the additional resources of community partners, we are able to build a robust and complete pipeline of support from cradle to career through which every child succeeds.
