Our AmeriCorps members serve 1200 hours by July 31st with different housing nonprofits throughout Kentucky. Most positions will work alongside experienced contractors, allowing members the opportunity to learn tangible skills through hands-on experience. The AmeriCorps member will serve in a construction capacity at Frontier Housing. Frontier Housing builds new homes for low and moderate-income individuals and families. The AmeriCorps member will provide construction services, including pouring concrete and laying block, framing new homes, installing siding and drywall, roofing, and installing floors. The member will also supervise the participants of the mutual self-help homeownership program by coordinating and schedule the construction work.
