Adult Literacy Tutor

AmeriCorps members will serve as Adult Literacy Tutors, providing one on one and small group tutoring to individuals who need to improve basic reading, writing, math, english language skills, computer skills, or finanacial literacy skills. AmeriCorps members will also recruit, train, and mobilize community volunteers, as well as perform community service projects throughout the year.

Community Need Addressed

Serving Individuals who need to improve fundamental skills: literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, english for speakers of other languages, and financial literacy.

Position Outcomes

GoodSkills Literacy Corps members will see 2500 adults with barriers to employment go through the program and meet individual goals in these fundamental skills areas, and go on to have a more secure economic future because of their increased education.
