Position Description: The JSC Fellow working with CRL will provide administrative, event, and communication support. This is a 32 hour a week position with some evening and weekend commitments.

How Position Furthers Organization’s Mission: Center for Responsible Lending (CRL) is a non-profit, non-partisan research and policy organization dedicated to protecting homeownership and family wealth. They are an affiliate of SELF-HELP, one of the largest community development financial institutions in the country. CRL focuses on fighting consumer predatory lending practices. It uses research to develop reasonable, practical policy solutions which they share with advocates and policymakers interested in reforming lending practices at the state or federal level.

Johnson Service Corps is a diverse, ecumenical community of young adults ages 21 to 28 dedicated to service and justice in Durham, NC. The year starts mid-August and goes through June; it is steeped in volunteer service, professional development, vocational discernment, justice training, intentional community living, and spiritual formation. You volunteer 32 hours a week at various nonprofit organizations throughout the Triangle area. In addition, we provide housing, a shared grocery budget, group counseling, spiritual retreats, health insurance, mentorship, a monthly stipend ($500/a month), and a completion bonus ($1000 at the end of the program year).
