Community Training Works, Inc. also known as Florida Conservation Corps, Young American Conservation Corps and Arkansas Conservation Corps is an environmental conservation corps that empowers individuals from all backgrounds and abilities to contribute purposefully to their community through education and hands-on experience. We impact community through work on public lands, roads and waterways. CTW envisions a world where individuals utilize intelligence and positive energy to improve their lives, community and environment.

LEARN ~ SERVE ~ WORK ~ EXPLORE ~ RESTORE

CTW values diversity, equity, and inclusion of our members to reflect the communities in which they serve. These values have been a cornerstone of CTW since its inception in 2006. We celebrate the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities of our corps members and staff. We believe that there is a place at the table for all, especially those facing marginalization, and work to provide a culture of safety, belonging, and validation. We are focused on identifying and interrupting oppression with the ultimate goal of social justice.

CTW believes our members bring a wide array of identities, cultures, and perspectives to our corps. This enables CTW to become more creative, flexible, innovative and productive. We value diversity at all levels of our organization, beginning from the top down. This diversity and melting pot of cultures enriches our programs and the communities we serve. CTW knows that diversity, equity and inclusion are crucial to learning and growth.

    • Young American Conservation Corps (YACC) Program – improvements to public lands (Trail Maintenance, tree removal)
    • Coastal & Ecological Program (CEP) – Work along waterways, habitat improvement for threatened species
    • Aiders of the Lost Arch (aka Ancestral Lands Program) (ALA) – CTW’s work on ancestral lands which are sensitive lands hand clearing archaeological sites

  • Our Impact
The impacts on the young adults and veterans we work with have significantly affected their lives, their families and their communities in which they live. They each find their own path and lessons learned and what they derive from the experience with CTW varies between each individual.

CTW provides meaningful opportunities for young adults and veterans to come together and work, serve, explore and restore through working on conservation projects on public lands and waterways. This fosters the interest that challenging work brings us closer together for a common cause.

Land managing agencies that we work with such as Department of Transportation, National Parks, National Forests, National Wildlife Refuges, state parks, wilderness areas and other public lands throughout the United States are struggling with the threatened habitats they mange, their vital ecosystems are endangered which affects everyone's ability to enjoy and explore our natural environments.

We believe that the young adults and veterans participating in this critical work are fostering an interest in preserving these natural treasure and are becoming the next generation of conservationists.
