As a VISTA Healthy Futures Member focusing on Chronic Absenteeism, you will contribute to the planning and implementation of initiatives aimed at creating sustainable programs to reduce chronic absenteeism among Pre-K to 12th-grade students. By collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will research and implement national best practices, build relationships, conduct outreach, and maintain systems to effectively communicate the challenges of chronic absenteeism.

· Stipend up to $22,882 for the 12-month term ($880.08 bi-weekly)
· Education Award of $6,895 (available after successful completion of service term and can be applied directly towards tuition or student loans) OR end-of-year stipend award of $1,800
· Eligible for Federal student loan forbearance or deferment
We are looking to fill one position in this role with a start date in the month of May or June.

Service Activities

Primary Responsibilities:
• Design and implement programs and interventions targeting the root causes of absenteeism.
• Develop outreach strategies and needs assessment tools to address the unique needs of different age groups in correlation to chronic
absenteeism trends.
• Analyze social determinants of absenteeism and create logic models for appropriate attendance interventions.
• Perform data analysis to customize interventions and mitigate absenteeism, isolating subgroups where interventions are needed.
• Offer sustainable training programs for early childhood and K-12 providers, supporting the entire birth through 12th-grade continuum.
• Locate research and data to support chronic absenteeism initiatives in early childhood and elementary education.
