Description
AmeriCorps members serving as Arts Advocates with the Clubs will create and implement arts programming for youth ages 6-18 in the after school, Club, environment. Member will be assigned to 1 or more Club locations to run arts activities, events, and programming for the youth there. Arts Advocates will also assist with Art Week at Camp Whitcomb Mason.
In addition, AmeriCorps members in arts programming are responsible for:
--Planning arts programming and other large events with Club staff
--Assisting with the development, acquisition, and maintenance of art materials
--supporting site arts staff in creation and implementation of arts experience that develop knowledge and skills
--establishing and maintaining partnerships with community and arts organizations
--Establishing and maintaining a rapport with Club staff and parents
--Assisting with the maintenance of a detailed file for each program and activity in order to report on program impact and attendance
--facilitating creation of and collects and provides youth art for presentations, meetings, donor recognition, awards and contest participation
--Implementing and participating in programs, projects, and outings for our members. Must participate in required training and orientation.
--assisting with the facilitation of the Core Area Meetings
We are looking to hire 2 quarter time AmeriCorps members, serving from September 2018 to May 2019 with a requirement of 450 service hours. The work schedule for these members will be flexible (15 hours a week) and member-determined based on availability.
