 Collaborate with school staff and administration to identify youth at a high risk for academic failure
 Case manage identified youth at a high-risk for academic failure, including tracking school attendance, behaviors, and grades.
 Recruit and retain case managed youth into Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis programs.
 Track students’ attendance and grades to provide support and follow through where needed. Implement the day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards, goals, agendas, and lesson plans
 Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in programs and receive instruction and constructive feedback.
 Facilitate the Star Targeted tutoring programs and other academic support and approved programs.
 Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of members.
 Maintain positive internal and external relationships.
 Mentor assigned youth to achieve success.
 Provide direct supervision over an assigned group of youth during Club hours.
 Report all safety, incident, and worker's compensation issues within 24-hours to Assistant Site Director or Site Director and with appropriate documentation.
 Collect and record member and program data as required by funding sources.

Community Need Addressed

Succeed @ The Club AmeriCorps Service Member is a shared position between Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis and our local school partners. The AmeriCorps Service Member is responsible for collaborating with the assigned school’s staff to identify high need youth and provide mentoring, attendance tracking, progress checking, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s curricula during the school day. After school and during the summer, the AmeriCorps Service Member will facilitate BGCA’s Project Learn Framework ‘s five key components for its case managed youth and other at-risk Club members to include:
 Homework help (PowerHour) and tutoring (STAR Tutoring),
 High-yield learning activities (life skills, character building, service projects and academic enrichment),
 Parental involvement (Families Plus and acting as a liaison between parents and school),
 Recognition and incentives (Club store and goal setting),
 Alignment with school (AmeriCorps day-time responsibilities).

The AmeriCorps Members will act as a liaison with parents to help in their efforts to get involved in their child’s education and connect them with additional social services and community resources available; They will recruit and retain volunteers to provide needed services and after- school homework help; and will work with other programs already implemented in the school and in the Club that meet the grant requirements.
