AmeriCorps members will provide full-time tutoring to Student Grants Center and Transitional Studies students. Subjects will focus primarily on math and English, from basic to college-level. When unable to help students in specific area content, members will recruit volunteers who can.

Service Activities

Tutoring math and English and digital skills in a room with computers. Tutoring may be facilitating group sessions and/or setting up individual sessions. Assisting students with FAFSA applications, grant applications, scholarship applications. Assisting students with technical help.

Provide a wide range of enriching activities and academic support.

Position Outcomes

Provide a safe, enriching environment for academically struggling students to increase their academic achievement level, school and community connectedness, and social/life skills.


Childcare assistance if eligible, Education award upon successful completion of service, Health coverage, Living allowance, Stipend, Student loan forbearance, Training

Campus-specific privacy training in FERPA, training about the grant programs, training on DEI topics.
