Description
The Wenatchee School District After School Expanded Learning Programs are seeking AmeriCorps members that want to share and grow their skills while making a difference in students' lives. In this position, you will:
-Work as part of a team made up of staff from 7 program sites
-Attend a variety of trainings on youth development and youth program
quality
-Develop, implement, and lead engaging enrichment activities for
elementary and/or middle school students during after school and summer
programming
-Coordinate programs and activities which could include: parent education
classes, social media, recreation leagues, volunteer oversight

Additional Benefits
SafeSchools: 5 hours of online training in topics including, but not limited to: Student Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Bullying, Suicide Awareness, Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Prevention and Students Experiencing Homelessness: Awareness and Understanding.
Youth Methods Trainings: A series of 2- to 3-hour workshops focused on Program Quality. They are delivered in the participatory learning method and provide point-of-service staff with practical skills that they can implement immediately. Trainings include but are not limited to: Active Participatory Approach, Building Community, and Planning and Reflection.

Desired Certifications or Qualifications
-Ability to work effectively with elementary and/or middle school students
-Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced work environment, shifting work
priorities as needs shift
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Desire to work with academically struggling students
-Passion to make a difference in students' lives
-Experience working with students preferred
-Bilingual, Spanish, preferred
-4-year college degree preferred
