Vision | A Greenville County where all people have access to the opportunities to achieve their full potential.

Mission | We mobilize people and resources to improve lives, strengthen the community and advance equity for the benefit of all.

  • About Us
We’re in this together. We all want Greenville County to be a thriving community where everyone can have a safe, stable and successful life. To this end, United Way brings together a diverse group of people, businesses and organizations around a shared desire to make Greenville County a place where everyone has the opportunities and resources to reach their full potential. Providing people with the tools and support to thrive at every stage of life creates a better community for all of us.

Together, we’re doing something different. We’re focused on creating real solutions, not quick fixes or Band-Aids. We will always need those programs that provide basic needs and emergency assistance, but we are also looking at the big picture by leading and supporting programs and initiatives that have an enduring impact in improving school readiness, high school graduation and financial stability. It’s only by focusing on holistic solutions to these complex problems that we can achieve the generational community change we all want.
  • Our Impact
Below are just a few examples of the impact we are achieving by working together to make our community stronger.
    - 4,978 families increased income and saved for an education, home or retirement.
    - 1,858 people enrolled in employment readiness or GED courses.
    - 24,000 children from low-income families received books and parents were encouraged to read together as a family.
    - 5,488 people were helped through training, education and social services at United Way Centers for Working Families.
    - 3,798 students participated in mentoring/tutoring programs focused on keeping them on track.
    - 12,932 parents and children benefited from School Readiness strategies, including parent training high quality preschool programs.
    - 200 out-of-school time programs are being helped to maximize resources and increase quality so the 10,000 kids they serve have the best chance at post-high school success
    - 62,056 people benefited from Life Essentials strategies. Meeting basic needs like food, health care and safe shelter affect a family’s ability to create a cycle of success.
