Graduation Coach

As a graduation coach in the Lynn AmeriCorps Project, members will work directly with students.

Service Activities

Members will work with students via in class support, one on one tutoring/mentoring, or during after school hours. Members will work in conjunction with teachers, faculty, and staff to identify students needs, and how they will be met.

Members will also complete trackers that evaluate the time spent with students in different capacities as well as grades in core classes. Members will also be required to attend professional development meetings and trainings that are pertinent to their work.

Community Need Addressed

This position will address the dropout rate in the Lynn Public Schools, and work to engage more English Language Learners in core school subjects, such as math, English, and science.

Position Outcomes

United Way and the Lynn AmeriCorps Project aims to see that students who are working with members have either increased their grades in core subjects or pass the MCAS test.
