What’s the plan?
Thread plans to host 16 AmeriCorps members to facilitate and expand our threadHOURS programming to support our growing high school student enrollment. ThreadHOURS offers structured spaces for groups of students and their Thread Families—the up to four volunteers assigned to one student—to connect, build relationships, and have meaningful experiences that promote students’ academic and personal growth.

Each AmeriCorps member will be matched to a high school site; members will have time throughout their experience to develop meaningful relationships with the students, volunteers, and Site Coordinators within their assigned site. Much of the members’ day-to-day work will take place at partner schools in coordination with Site Coordinators who manage and support Thread Family volunteers at each high school site.
