Community Need Addressed

Because of the rural and remote location of the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan, our area has higher poverty and unemployment rates. These conditions put the children of the three county communities we serve at a higher risk for reading, literacy, and educational failure. As part of the Superior AmeriCorps team, you will be directly addressing the literacy needs of Kindergarten - 3rd grade children throughout the communities in the local school districts.
