Description

The Sisters of St. Joseph listen to and articulate the social justice concerns of the “dear neighbor” to energize and empower people to be agents of change through advocacy, consciousness raising, prayer, action, and direct services. We are called to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, lover our neighbor and minister to the oppressed. We advocate for ecological justice, anti-racism, anti-human trafficking, immigration, and other ongoing issues which injure the common good.

Under the direction of the Director of the St. Joseph Justice Center, plan and implement projects, attend meetings and events, develop understanding for ongoing work and goals of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange and justice issues. Stay current with news and developments related to climate crisis, social justice, etc. and collaborate with organizations addressing such issues.

Live in community with other women, ages 21-35, seeking to grow and serve, just like you! We provide room and board a monthly stipend, transportation to service site, health insurance if needed, and mentoring and training for personal and professional development. Besides work experience our volunteers have the opportunity to develop and grow in spirituality in the spirit of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange.
