Shelby joined Service Year!
I would like to serve because I am passionate about the human experience and giving back to my community. I went into education because I was inspired by the impact it had and the opportunity it gave me to learn from and inspire my own students. I believe that by serving I will be able to not only use my own experience to give to others but also learn from their experiences as well. As I am on a path to become the best educator I can possibly be, I believe this experience would help me better understand those whose experience may be different from my own and allow me to give back to my community in a meaningful way as I work to grow as an educator and member of the global community.
