House Captain

These members will be doing hands-on repairs to provide necessary and critical repairs to low-income veteran, elderly, and disabled homeowners. Members will serve alongside and train volunteers from across the country in these services.

Service Activities

Members will provide repairs services that may including siding repair and replacement, wheelchair ramp construction, weatherization repairs, grab bars and railings repair and installation, painting, drywall, and flooring. Members will also instruct and supervise volunteers on a day-to-day basis on these repair services.

Community Need Addressed

Aging adults unable to afford home upkeep, accessibility repairs and services for disabled homeowners, weatherization repairs that address high and unaffordable utility bills

Position Outcomes

Increase the number of repair services to low income homeowners, decrease falls from accessibility repairs, lower utility bills
