Project Transformation is transforming the lives of young adults and the children they serve through our year-round programs in underserved areas of Dallas. The service experience is hands-on with the young adults serving in teams and connecting children from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds with many adult volunteers. AfterSchool program leaders help students with homework and lead reading and enrichment activities for children.

Service Activities

 Implement a nine-month after-school program, Mondays through Thursdays from 2:30pm – 6:30pm, serving approximately 30 children between 6 and 12 years old. Daily activities include homework assistance, physical recreation activities, and rotational weekly lessons including nutrition, arts and crafts, life skills or computer.

 Coordinate and implement semi-monthly community events (Family Fun Nights).
 Build relationships with children and families by visiting the parents and teachers of the children involved in his/her after school program.
 Participate in leadership development training every Friday afternoon.
 During the summer months, live in community and serve as part of a team leading an extended daily summer program for approximately 60-80 children and youth.

Project Transformation helps children improve their reading skills, while providing positive role models for youth in low-income communities.
