AmeriCorps Enrichment Members will be assigned 20 students to work on literacy activities that focus on cognitive skills, reading abilities, and writing abilities. Members will prepare lesson plans and provide activities with the objective of increasing literacy assessment scores. Members will recruit a minimum of 5 community volunteers to commit to serve 2 hours in literacy and reading events within the early childhood programs.

Position Outcomes

AmeriCorps Members will lead 360 students in activities that will increase Literacy school readiness. Eighty percent of the children will increase their Literacy readiness scores. Additionally, the Members will recruit and mobilize 100 community volunteers to commit to 2 hours of service focused on reading and literacy events.
