AmeriCorps VISTAs will contribute to the Our House mission by performing activities such as volunteer recruitment and management, development of organizational resources, systems, and supportive networks. Members will plan events, coordinate fundraising activities, and build efficient, effective, and sustainable projects over the course of one year.

Community Need Addressed

Our House is a comprehensive program designed to empower homeless and near-homeless families to succeed in the workforce, in school, and in life through hard work, wise decision-making, and active participation in the community. We are on the front lines of a significant problem for our state and nation. The VISTA project seeks to lift individuals out of homelessness, assist people in finding full-time employment, and recruit and manage volunteers.

Position Outcomes

The VISTA project seeks to lift individuals out of homelessness, assist people in finding full-time employment, and recruit and manage volunteers and expects to benefit almost 3,000 economically disadvantaged individuals.
